Description
Pressing Matters is a Coal River Valley winery at Cambridge founded by Greg Melick AO SC and Michelle Melick in 2002, with first vintage 2006 after Paul Smart joined as viticulturist and winemaker. The estate is best known as one of Australia’s most serious Riesling producers, using a distinctive “R-system” to label residual-sugar levels from R0 (dry) through to R139 (sweet). Greg Melick retired in 2025; Paul Smart and Michelle Melick continue the estate.
