Tasmania Wine & Booze is the most complete directory of Tasmanian wineries, distilleries, cideries and breweries on the web. One hundred and fifty-one producers, twelve regions, hand-verified cellar-door hours, accurate maps, honest descriptions.

Why this directory exists

Tasmania makes some of the best wine, whisky, cider and beer in the world — but the information travellers need to find it is scattered across Google Maps, outdated tourism brochures, Facebook pages, and review aggregators that haven’t been updated since 2019. Opening hours are wrong. Listings are missing. Regions bleed into each other. It’s possible to drive through pinot country without realising it.

We built this to fix that. Every producer on the site has been individually researched, placed on the correct regional map, given accurate opening hours, and described in plain English. No SEO filler, no AI slop, no pay-for-placement. Just a useful map and honest notes.

What we cover

  • Wineries — every cellar door on the island with public tastings, from Tamar Valley sparkling houses to Coal River Valley pinot specialists.
  • Distilleries — all 50+ licensed Tasmanian whisky and gin distilleries.
  • Cideries — Huon Valley’s heritage orchard cidermakers and the new-wave producers across the island.
  • Breweries — from Cascade (Australia’s oldest) to the latest independents.

How listings work

Listings are free. Producers can claim their listing to update details, add photos, respond to visitor questions, and (eventually) link their own booking systems. We’ll never charge for a basic listing. Premium tools for claimed producers will come later as a modest subscription.

Editorial standards

  • All descriptions are original writing, plagiarism-checked against Copyscape.
  • Opening hours are verified at launch and re-audited on a rolling quarterly schedule.
  • We disclose when we’ve visited, when we haven’t, and when information comes from the producer.
  • We do not accept payment for placement, ranking, or favourable coverage.
  • Affiliate links, where they exist, are disclosed on the listing.
